#1. Caramel Candy Sweetness, a Hint of Fruit
Brewing coffee with new beans that I've never tried before is one of life's pleasures for me. Today, I brewed coffee with beans from Kurasu, a specialty coffee shop and roastery in Kyoto. "Kurasu" comes from the Japanese word meaning "to live" or "lifestyle." They started as a small online homeware shop back in 2013.
About a month ago, my friend Soli brought me coffee beans she got during her trip to Japan. After tasting the coffee I brewed with the beans, I couldn't wait to learn more about this coffee shop and what they offer.
The coffee beans I used today are Kurasu's House Blend. With a sweet aroma, it offers flavors of orange, cacao, dried prune, and caramel. It's a medium roast, which I often choose for my daily cup of coffee. What I love most about these medium roast beans is that they provide a very clean, simple cup of coffee instead of a mix of different tastes. I tend to prefer sweetness over acidity, and this House Blend from Kurasu creates a subtle, not overwhelming, orange flavor, making the coffee even more enjoyable.
Here are the details about the beans:
