A Refreshing Spot Like the High Line, Relaxing Coffee Moments
When I think of the High Line in Chelsea, I imagine it as a small oasis of lush greenery thriving between tightly packed buildings. If Central Park feels like a grand, iconic figure, the High Line has a more vibrant, youthful vibe—like a local leader in his late 30s. Urbana Coffee captures this same lively, contemporary feel. It’s a place where busy city folks come to read, chat, and enjoy some downtime. Despite being a popular spot, it maintains a relaxed atmosphere.
Coffee and Pastries: The coffee menu at Urbana Coffee is quite similar to other coffee shops, but one feature that caught my eye was their pour-over option. Pour-over is less common due to the longer preparation time, and although it’s listed on the menu, I didn’t notice any customers ordering it during my visit. One of their standout coffee blends is TORO, Devocion's house blend, with flavor notes of cacao, vanilla, cherry, and almond. I actually visited Devocion’s Midtown location last month and often brew with their beans at home. If you’re interested in pour-over recipes and more details about the beans, check out my coffee blog! They also offer classic pastries like pumpkin bread, blueberry scones, and almond croissants.
Atmosphere and Ambiance: While sipping on Flat Whites, I observed people reading, catching up with friends, grabbing coffee after a workout, and working on their laptops. I loved how the space felt—everyone was focused and at ease.
